Students are invited to engage more deeply with the natural world through curiosity, independence, and shared adventure. Weekly nature study themes—such as forest ecology, native plant uses, or mapping—encourage close observation, critical thinking, and a growing sense of environmental stewardship.

Students learn to observe with all of their senses, developing a lasting connection to the earth and their peers in our outdoor classroom. Journaling becomes more detailed, incorporating scientific thinking, sketches, and personal reflection. As they hike trails, explore the swamp, or walk along the lakeshore, students build strength, resilience, and confidence in nature.
